About Botlierskop

Botlierskop is a 4,200 hectare private game reserve found on the Garden Route. It is a 4 ½ hours drive from Cape Town and just a short 30 minutes drive if you are flying into George Airport. Botlierskop Private Game Reserve is set on the foot of the Outeniqua Mountains, on stunning hills of fynbos and deep river valleys.

There is a wide variety of wildlife and over 200-bird species that you can see at Botlierskop. Botlierskop Private Game Reserve is home to the lion, elephant, buffalo and rhino as well as many other wildlife such as the antelope, rare black impala, zebra, giraffe, hippo and more. The game drives last for 3 hours and take place in open 4×4 vehicles. On the game drives you will be accompanied by an experienced ranger telling you stories about the magnificent wildlife and what surrounds.

If you aren’t going on game drives, there are some really exciting activities to take part in or you can relax and book a treatment in the SPA along the riverbed. Viewing decks and relaxation areas offer mind blowing views over the reserve and are the perfect place to park off and take it all in. Botlierskop Private Game Reserve is on a unique territory and offers a peaceful environment and unstated elegance in African decor and design. Botlierskop Game Reserve has unquestionably one of the most beautiful tented camps in South Africa. The luxury tents are out of this world with incredible wildlife roaming on the plains in front of your tent. There are five different accommodation options to choose from. The Safari Experience

When you arrive at Botlierskop Private Game Reserve, you are welcomed with a drink at check in and lunch will be served soon after. It’s then time to take it all in and see what this incredible reserve is all about. Later that afternoon, you’ll be joining your first 4×4 game drive. Then, you can relax and enjoy some time at leisure before dinner is served.

The following day will begin with an early morning safari before breakfast. The days are similar and on each full day you will be able to join two safari drives, one at sunrise and one at sunset. There will be three outstanding meals a day served in the lodge. When you are not on safari you will be able to enjoy the exciting activities that they have to offer. You can relax and lounge around the swimming pool at the lodge or you can and have a picnic by the dam. You’ll be swept away daily by the extraordinary views from every angle at the Botlierskop Private Game Reserve. Before the day is over, you will join the sunset safari drive, with a sundowner. Later, dinner will be served in the lodge.

The last day starts off at sunrise with a game drive and then breakfast. After breakfast it’s time to relax and take in the views once again before you depart to your onward journey.

Activites At Bollierskop

Besides enjoying the mind blowing views and relaxing at the swimming pool, there are some exciting and interesting activities to take part in at Botlierskop. You can join a guided bush walk with a ranger and explore the flora and fauna by foot. There are some great horse riding options such as the horseback safari or an out ride into the mountains and surrounding areas. You can go canoeing up the river, go fishing or even enjoy a picnic by the dam. The bush SPA offers a variety of treatments and is found along the river bed surrounded by mountain views and exquisite scenery. There are some great activities for the kids and they can join the junior ranger program and fishing excursion.

Location

Getting There

The drive from Cape Town takes 4.5 hours along the N2 highway or fly to George and drive for 30 minutes. Flight time from Cape Town to George is 45 minutes. Transfers can be arranged from Cape Town or George airport.

The luxury tented suites are covered by African trees and is Colonial in style. With wooden walkways that are connecting the suites to each other and to the Main Lodge, with its lounge areas and open-plan Fireplace Restaurant. The restaurant leads out on to the spacious wooden deck with wrap-around views of the valleys below. You can choose between the luxury tented suites, the deluxe tented suites, and the executive or family tented suites.

The manor house

The manor house is the original farmhouse from the 1800s, that was renovated and turn into luxurious and spacious rooms. Overlooking the reserve, enjoying the tranquility. Children under the age of 6 aren’t allowed here. The different types of rooms that you can choose between is the luxury manor room, stable manor room, and the family room.

Luxury bush villas. Self-catering accommodation

Overlooking one of the waterholes, this is great family luxurious bush villas. These villas offer self-catering, but you can still enjoy a meal at the Village Lodge. It is just 7.3km from the villas. The village lodge

This is a child-friendly, 16-bedroom Village Lodge. And it is located on the northern side of the Reserve. Providing more privacy. At the lodge, you will find some child-friendly activities like the playground, sandpit, swimming pool, tadpole fishing, and pony rides. At the village lodge, you can choose between different suites.
