About The Garden Route Lodge

The Garden Route Game Lodge is a 3 ½ hour drive from Cape Town along the garden route and from George International airport it only takes 60 minutes. This is a malaria-free area. The Garden Route Game Lodge is popular for their large variety of wildlife and birds as well as for their hospitality.

The safari drives take place in an open 4×4 safari vehicle and you will have 360 degree views over the landscapes of the reserve. The experienced rangers know everything there is to know about the wildlife. Some of the animals that you will be able to see during a safari include the lion, elephant, white rhino, buffalo and leopard. Then, you will also be able to see animals like the giraffe, zebra, bontebok, red hartebeest, kudu, eland, impala, springbuck, etc.

The Garden Route Game Lodge houses a variety of accommodation options from luxury suites to chalets and family suites. The Garden Route Game Lodge is located against the backdrop of the Langeberg mountain range and boasts stunning views over the landscapes of the reserve.

The Safari Experience

The Garden Route Game Lodge is fun and full of adventure. It all starts off with welcome drinks, your check in and lunch when you arrive. Then you can relax or you can explore the game lodge and see what they have to offer. You’ll soon be going on your first safari in the afternoon that leads into the sunset. Dinner will be served and then it’s time to kick back and take the night in.

The next day you will be up bright and early for the sunrise safari drive. The safari drives are 2 to 3 hours long and there are two safaris drives per day. The one is at sunrise, and the other one is at sunset. On the morning drive, there will be a coffee stop, and during the sunset drive, there will be a sundowner stop .After an morning in the wild, you will be able to enjoy a delicious breakfast and some time at leisure. The  Garden Route lodge offers you 3 meals a day and later you will be served lunch in the lodge. After lunch, you will be able to enjoy some of the activities that they have to offer at the lodge or you can just park off at the swimming pool and enjoy the fascinating views right in front of you. At night, after dinner you can enjoy the tranquillity of the bush, or you can even join an additional night safari. Something that isn’t offered at many other game lodges.

On the final day at the Garden Route Lodge, the morning kicks off with a sunrise safari followed by breakfast. You will have some time to relax before your leisurely check out.

Activities At The Garden Route Game Lodge

If you aren’t on the safari, you can enjoy activities like the game walks, bird watching, flora and fauna exploring or get to know more about the different wildlife that South Africa has to offer. Youcan enjoy a treatment at the spa. There is also a night safari as an additional option. At the Garden Route Game Lodge, children are welcome and can take part in the ‘Kids on Safari’ program.

GARDEN ROUTE GAME LODGE

The drive from Cape Town takes 3.5 hours along the N2 highway or fly to George and drive for 50 minutes. Flight time from Cape Town to George is 45 minutes. Transfers are regularly arranged on request.
